Green Home Design by Scott Specht

Do you ever wish you could have an amazing holiday home which requires very little of your time for upkeep? A home where you do not have to think about electricity bills and gas prices? Today we bring you the ‘ZeroHouse.’ It is the project of Scott Specht and it represents a vacation home that is 100 percent automatic. The house generates its own electric power with the help of the high-tech solar panels that help produce power that is then stored in a battery backup. When completely charged, the house will run efficiently for seven days without a hint of sunlight. The home runs automatically with the help of sensors which are connected to a main PC. What’s more, it collects water into a 10,000 liter tank which runs water by the use of gravity to other parts of the house therefore eliminating the need for any water pumps. Organic waste is diverted to a digestive mechanism located beneath the house as well, which is then converted into compost which needs to be removed from the house only two times per year.
