Beautiful Cabin by Lundberg Design

The majority of this cabin has been built using reclaimed materials from several projects over years. The windows are all steel sash made out of at last count five remodel projects. The swimming pool isn’t probably the perfect example – actually it used to be a water tank for cattle. At 14 ft. deep and 25 ft diameter it provides a great black hole of water, especially in a full moon. The floors are a vibrant slate that’s the one and only material which doesn’t show everything that the dogs tend to drag in. The home siding is reclaimed redwood.

Log Cabin by Piet Hein Eek

This log cabin is a project of Piet Hein Eek. The cabin is usually made out of logs which have been peeled and cut to the different sizes. And handmade log cabins have been with us for many years. However, this one is definitely a major surprise. This is a log cabin which looks much like a bunch of logs. One will have to keep a check therefore that discreet people may not take couple logs off cabin.

Modern Cabin by David Jameson

Situated on one of the chain of 3 beautiful islands in Dorchester County, Maryland, this super cool cabin on Hoopers Island is truly beautiful. Rich in heart & history, this island is one of the oldest settlement areas in Maryland. This cabin is a project of David Jameson, and is conveniently divided up into sections for separate living spaces. Even though they’re individual structures the interiors are linked via exterior metal cladding. The roofs are coplanar – rather than just being sloped – a one-of-a-kind geometric shape. A screen porch links the 3 central structures, enabling a breezy place to revitalize. Extending from the central building is a wooden deck featuring an above ground pool along with a sunbathing platform.

Today we bring you a wonderful Chicken Point Cabin from Olson Kundig Architects. Building a cabin on the side of an Idaho lake is one of the smartest decisions one can make. It just so happens that this cabin has a window-wall that is 30 by 20 ft. and opens the whole living area up to some truly breathtaking view of the lake. Even though this cabin looks more like a traditional house, the living and bedroom areas and designed similar to that of a traditional cabin. Photographs: Benjamin Benschneider

This small easily portable cabin from Little House on the Trailer called ‘A Room of Your Own’ features a footprint of just 120 Sq Ft, enabling placement in most backyards without a building permit! 10 by 12 ft or 13.5 by 9 ft; it is even possible to design your own (needless to say, with the help of Little House on the Trailer) from the ground (or wheels) up. It’s truly a wonderful music studio, home office or a creative writer’s retreat.
